    I got rid of the throttle snatchiness on the 450NK I bought almost a year ago, after a 40 odd year break from motorcycling.
    There was way too much free play in the throttle. Slow.speed roundabouts were a nightmare. Adjusted the cables and now something happens as soon as I turn the throttle. Transformed the ride.
    Took spanners with me when I collected my 450MT and adjusted the throttle cables before I left the dealer.

      China have also been making engines and parts for most of the Japanese and even American cars, like Honda, Kawasaki, Nissan, GM, Volvo, BMW KTM {the KTM engines that failed were made in Austria, NOT China} , and lots more, and for longer than most would think. It isn't just iphones...

    • @grahamx8623
      @grahamx8623 27 дней назад

      The difference is that the market leading Brit bikes were decades out of date and Jap bikes good pretty much from the get go. The amazing thing about Chinese bike (and car) manufacturers is how long it's taken for them to get anywhere near Japanese or Euro stuff (even though they constantly copied Japanese designs in the past). If you look at the massive size of China, it's massive population and wealth you'd have thought they'd be making the ultimate bikes and cars by now. Low pricing doesn't really give them an excuse either, they're cheap because China have raw materials, government subsidies and cheap/child/slave labour within their workforce.
      Never gets mentioned in the reviews for some reason!

    • @nicksokolis6343
      @nicksokolis6343 26 дней назад +4

      No it isn't. Honda changed the bmarket through Innovation in the 60s. The Chinese have been making bikes and cars for 40 years and just now the are only competing on price. No Innovation whatsoever, just cheaper European and Japanese old technology.

    I think my hesitancy towards Chinese motorcycle manufacturers is not their Chineseness, but their newness. They just haven't been around long enough to have earned a good reputation yet. Once CFMotos and Moto Morinis and the like have been shown to go 50,000 miles over 10 years with near-Japanese levels of reliability (or hell, even just near-Kawasaki levels) then I'll consider them a viable option. Motorcycles are not meant to be disposable and I want to see proof that Chinese bikes are built to last.

    People talking about "their phones being made in china" miss the key difference of development vs manufacturing. Yes top brand electronics are made in china. But not only are they not developed by them but they are also forced to pass QC standards imposed by the OEM designers. Chinese development + chinese manufacturing + chinese quality control is what people are afraid off spend their hard earned money on these brands. But time will tell how reliable and how the after sell services are (support, parts availability in your local area, dealerships etc). They sound great btw

    I'm sure there are people who would buy these but where I live in so. Cal I can choose between dozens of classic superbikes on any given week in the $4-6k range that are going up in value. Basically you can get your dream bike from the 90's to 2000's, ride it for a year and then sell it and it costed you nothing.

    I am seriously considering a cf moto as my second bike next year. i like the 800 nk, but worry its a little down on power over a ktm. the 890 or even the 990 duke are the 2 main options for me atm.

      I've been riding bikes for over 40 years, Virtually every bike I rode for the first 20 I scraped , either the centre stand, side stand , pipes, or footpegs almost every time I rode one.. People have become so precious, I bet you're not even capable of scraping them on this bike, it's only the hero knobs on the pegs anyway, which you can still scrape on a number of bikes....

    Snatchy throttle? Big maybe on a software fix (since it’s a cable operated throttle iirc). Reliability? Well it’s not gonna be the worst because we’d already hear about it from other bikes. Abs? Maybe better tyres will help. A lot of maybes, but then you get to the price and suddenly it’s maybe I should at least try it…
    But then for a few hundred euro more you have a Honda hornet so the choice is pretty obvious isn’t it

    My issue with Chinese made bikes has nothing to do with production quality, or their fun factor, but is instead political. (I would throw in economics too, but compared to Thailand or India, or ..., the average worker in China is paid better than in those countries. Still, it's 1/3rd the wage of an average worker in the US, and I'm guessing European countries too.) I know it would be easier, more fun, to ignore this aspect of motorcycling, but I'm unable to do that. China is led by a dictator and it actively oppresses its citizens (notice the changes that have happened in Hong Kong since their return to China, e.g.). For the same reason, I wouldn't buy a bike made in Russia, or North Korea, or Angola.

    • @Vstrom-Phenom
      @Vstrom-Phenom 22 дня назад

      Their policemen don't even carry weapons, so there is that for oppression. Yes, the goverment it's handled by a single party, but China has not participated on country invasions for centuries unlike most of the western countries in the XIX and XX century. They are not the only ones to present ethical problems.
      Also, western corporations you are happy with (and their providers) probably acquire chinese parts without a problem.
